BIRKENHEAD HOUSE
In the most unspoilt of surroundings, luxury runs wild.

Birkenhead House offers all the discerning sojourner could wish for: rich fabrics, choice antiques, the very finest in international cuisine and, of course, hospitality of the highest standard.

Perched high upon the cliffs of Hermanus, overlooking the whale watchers' paradise of Walker Bay, is the regal Birkenhead House. Only an hour an half from Cape Town, Birkenhead is named after a British troop ship that sank in Walker Bay in1852. Decorated to reflect the beauty of the coastal setting, no expense has been spared in making this the ultimate coastal retreat.
Most of the sea-facing suites offer expansive views of Walker Bay.
Guests can look forward to sighting the majestic Southern Right Whales that enter the sheltered waters of Walker Bay each year to calve. Other attractions include the courtyard swimming pool, the rim-flow pool and being on the door step of Hermanus' two best swimming beaches.
The Birkenhead is within easy reach of the cliff path walking trail, mountain walking passes and the Hemel-en-Aarde wine region. Other facilities include the Birkenhead House Spa, a fully equipped gym and a steam room.
The Birkenhead has their own talented chef and as such lavish meals and seafood delicacies are served up daily.
